The first Google’s famous homepage called “Doodles” which Is a Google logo on different events or to commemorate those events with all their users. The first one was designed by the Google guys when they were not in the office and went to spend their weekend in Burning Man festival and they made a doodle to let their users know that they won’t be in their office to fix technical faults.

At that time the storage space was very low and the first Google storage was made from LEGO. The maximum storage available at that time was of 4 GB. So, they took 10 4GB hard drives and had a LEGO construction to fit their bills.

Google’s first ever dog was a Leoberger’s breed called Yoshka, it was company’s first dog in 1999. That is why it is said that Google is dog friendly but cats might have a little problem :p.

Now about Google’s servers, it is always a secret for them that they don’t tell about their data centers and servers but recently a Google fellow told that they have capacity of having 10 million servers.

Google has installed 1.6MW solar panels on the rooftops of Googleplex. They generate around 4,475 KWh daily and it is equal to electricity consumed by 1000 homes in California.

Google’s first ever tweet posted was a message written as
“I’m 01100110 01100101 01100101 01101100 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01101100 01110101 01100011 01101011 01111001 00001010”
That means the famous phrase of its homepage as “I’m feeling lucky”

Google has a great impact on our language and the staff itself has a very delightful linguistic theme as a Google staffer is called “Googler” and a new person when joins in the team is called “Noogler”. And it is also said that every Noogler gets a yellow smiley balloon and a nameplate.

In 1999, there was a candy named “Swedish Fish” which was company’s first snack. The company provides its employees with free drinks and snacks but also gourmet meals with regular BBQs during summer.

Until 2001 the Google logo wasn’t designed, and then they had a bias homepage on left hand side.

Along with the other wonderful things at Googleplex, they also have a real huge skeleton of dinosaur, which is nicknamed as “Stan”.
