This list is very dated. Guys like Kaka, Slatan and Gerrard are quite passe at this point from what they used to be and Rooney could be No.10, at best. Ronaldo was incredible this year: He can do almost everything, is fast as lightning, strong as hell and also improved his behavior quite a bit.

I think Xavi is number 1. The guy never makes a bad pass. Long, short, with pace, in the air, on the ground etc… He is like Magic Johnson with a soccer ball. Messi and Ronaldo are great, but mostly dominate one third of the field. At the very least Xavi dominates 2/3′s and many times I see him as the main cog in a counter attack that starts around his own penalty box. Of course I would not disagree wtih anyone who thinks the other two are better.
