People who are displaced from their home countries into other nations due to various reasons, including political reasons, religion in which they belong to, their race or tribe, are known as refugees. The number of refugees in the world is increasing, a factor which lead to the formation of international agencies and organizations to coordinate refugee defense and protection. Such groups involved with these efforts are the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. After the Second World War when large numbers of people were fleeing the Eastern Europe, refugees were selected as legal groups of people. People seek refuge since they have been violated in their home countries and they are terrorized with the idea of returning where they had come from. Meaning, they would rather have a different life in a different land.

In 2009, the United Nations Refugee Agencies reported that the top ten producing countries have poor human rights policies or there is still an ongoing war that compromises the living standards of individuals and families. The report also shows that majority of refugees seek shelter to the neighboring nations. It’s the work of the international agencies and organizations to look after the welfare of the refugees and not the country which offer refuge to the victims. The following are the top ten refugees producing countries:

10. Serbia

The war in Serbia started early 1990s and it has continued since until the present time, although the most recent statistics reflect 2009. The crisis began due to the breakup of Yugoslavia. From the statistics collected by the International Organization, the number of refugees produced by Serbia in 2009 was 190,000. Members of local minority communities fled to the neighboring countries with fear of reprisals from the majority.

9. Eritrea

The citizens of Eritrea fled their country due to the national military rule, which had imposed the government in that nation. The reports given by the Human Rights Organization showed that any attempts by any individual to flee the country had serious consequences of torture and even imprisonment. But due to harsh conditions and violation of human rights, still, 209,000 immigrants manage to escape. Most of the individuals who flee went to their neighbor country Ethiopia.

8. Vietnam

Increasing number of Vietnamese who flee their country seek asylum in China. In 2009, the government was the main reason why most people flee the struggling nation. Religious freedom was overthrown by the government. Hence, the Christians in that country had to go for exile. In 2009, there were 330,000 refugees from Vietnam.

7. Sudan

Conflict started escalating in 2009, which had been reducing over the previous years. The clash between southern Sudan and Sudan led to the increasing number of refugees who seek shelter in neighboring countries, especially Kenya. The report given by the UNHCR show that people who were forced to escape their homes was about 368,000 individuals. Some of the refugees fled to the Republic of Chad and Egypt where they are avoiding the lack basic rights, living on the verge of starvation and threat of harassment.

6. Colombia

According to UNHCR, statistics show that the rate of people who flee from Colombia is at a high rate of about 380,000 per year. A 40-year conflict has really affected the stability of the country which has led to enormous numbers of individuals driven out their houses and went to exile. The internal conflict was between paramilitaries and guerilla groups seeking victory on against the other.

5. Myanmar

It’s a country which was formerly known as Burma, and it is a South East Asian country. For many years, it has been under military rule in different forms. Internal conflict caused by the military in Myanmar, which also lead to violation of human rights, contributed highly for the 400,000 people to be displaced from their homes.

4. Democratic Republic of Congo

Majority of the refugees from DRC are hosted in Uganda and some of them in Sudan Tanzania, and Rwanda. In 2009, the number of Congolese refugees was 455,000, putting the Democratic Republic of Congo in the fourth place as a refugee producing country. More than 2.4million Congolese were also internally displaced becoming IDPs. For the living conditions to improve significantly, insecurity and violence must be addressed.

3. Somalia

More than 678,000 Somali refugees continued to seek refuge in Kenya by 2009. The civil warfare and social instability prompt the fight which lead to a lot of people leave their homes and go to nearby countries. The catastrophe was worsened by harsh weather conditions and high levels of poverty in most of the areas in the country. In 2009, Somalia was the third largest nation producing refugees in the world.

2. Iraq

In 2009, Iraq was the second country which produced the highest number of refugees. Over 1.8 million asylum seekers from Iraq were recorded. They sought for refuge in neighboring countries, which included Syria, Palestine, and other close nations. Due to the unrest in Syria, Iraqi refugees are opting to return to their home country, despite the fact that their living conditions can be compromised. Humanitarian concerns are elements tailored to improve access of basic services for victims of war and social discord.

1. Afghanistan

By the year 2009, Afghanistan had produced the top most number of refugees in the world. Statistics from UNHCR shows that out of four refugees in the world, one is from Afghanistan and 96% of them seek refuge in the Islamic Republic of Iran and in Pakistan. Human rights were highly violated and the war which leads to the number of refugees raise up to 2.9 million Afghans, the highest number of expatriates ever recorded by 2009. Repatriation programs for Afghan refugees may have begun, but due to the worsening security, being the biggest challenge faced by the country that hinders repatriation, their efforts are being delayed for the sake of exiled people.

It is good for everyone to recognize and appreciate the helpful work being done by the international agencies and organizations for refugees. In 2009, millions of people were displaced from their homes and forced to seek refuge in other countries. Political instability is the major drive to the increasing number of refugees. It is therefore essential that when you come across immigrants in your country treat them with respect, understanding, and consideration to their situation.

One of the greatest desires of people is for them to be able to feel contentment in their lives, fulfillment in their dreams, and joy in their families. Peace is what drives man to put himself in a state of sacrifice to attain his ultimate goal, which is to experience a life of perfection, where there is no hate, no strife, and no chaos. However, just recently, we have heard of a nation declaring a “state of war” to another due to misunderstandings and confusion. While everyone else is focused on the war, have you ever wondered what are the top 10 most peaceful countries in the world and what it’s like to live in such a place? Peek on this list and you will realize that peace is not a distant national ambition.

10. Switzerland

Switzerland is one of the countries in the world that uses “honesty shops” in order to provide people the chance to exchange goods with money even without the assistance of cashier or store clerks. It is also the same country where you could actually leave your door wide open and not expecting that anyone would pilfer your stuff or take opportunity of the occasion. But the nation is ranked on the 10th spot as its military force is still intact and active, although there are reports that the said national power has been contracted. Another reason of the ranking is due to the unrest of the people in respect to currencies where the value of their money and their cost of living is compromised.

9. Finland

Aside from being famous for its Nokia international headquarters, Finland is known to be a place where living conditions are right; provided that you are not experiencing financial unrest due to huge taxes and costly living standards. But other than this, Finland is a peaceful place where crimes are low and violence is very rare. Despite of the said remarks however, it is on the 9th spot for the number of prisoners being detained, which is 59 per 100,000 people, including homicides that are higher than what is tallied and noted against other nearby countries. They are also not into war and even their military expenses are kept to a minimum, showing that the government is more focused on improving the lives of the people, rather than increasing its military strength.

8. Slovenia

Even if politics was active in Slovenia back in September 2011, the masses are actually satisfied with what’s happening, as voters, even those who have voted for the opposing party, have agreed to make things peaceful, keeping political unrest to a minimum. You can rarely hear of reports about terrorist attacks, mass killings, and other crimes, as there are only a few who engages in such activities. In fact, such horrendous acts are seldom to almost nothing. Military spending is also very low where the government only spends 1.4% of its GDP. They don’t even have their own fighter planes and they are depending on the assistance of Italy for that matter.

7. Ireland

Although Ireland is a serene place in general, it was placed in the 7th rank for its political imbalance, which was experienced back in 2011. In fact, there have been protests and discord at the turn of the new leadership, where both economical and political spheres have been compromised. However, as the new government welcomed change together with its subjects, political unrest has ceased and everyone joined together, hoping for improvement and change for the better. Demonstrations have decreased, violence was kept down, and the trust of the people with each other has strengthened. Despite of such problems, Ireland did not see the need of increasing its military power, which even cut costs amounting to $147 million in over 3 years.

6. Austria

Famous in history as being the “cradle of the civilization of music”, Austria gives a perfect sense of what it is like to live in harmony with the society and the government. There are rarely events of chaos in the country, which is why their police force is kept to a tolerable few. Even though there have been news that the numbers have increased, the figures are still taken to be the smallest in the world. Even the society does not feel troubled as safety and security is not too stiff, knowing that crime rates are noted to be one of the lowest everywhere.

5. Japan

Although Japan has a history of being one of the perpetrators in the last World War, it does not that they ended up as chaos-loving people. In fact, they have done many things in the world in order to make it a better place, particularly in establishing ties with the rest of the nations through harnessing the power of technology. Their people are also known for being disciplined, industrious, courteous, and generally happy, which makes the Land of the Rising Sun a perfect place to stay, and easy to adapt to. However, they did not end in the top 3 due to issues of increasing their military power as provoked by nearby countries like North Korea and China, which has a past of being dictators and conquerors.

4. Canada

Canada has more members of the police force than Ireland, specifically 203 police officers in every 100,000 people, something that is quite high in number. Despite of the said figures, they do not count much in relation to security and safety as strictness in implementing laws and policies are not harsh where the people are very disciplined and civilized in understanding and obeying the rules. Instead, the police force is used to make sure that apprehenders and crooks are caught and imprisoned, serving sentences via the due process of the law. What really boosted them to higher peace index ranks is the fact that the country is actively participating in NATO’s International Security Assistance Force whether in sending troops to Afghanistan or in any other war-driven nation.

3. New Zealand

Crimes are very low in New Zealand, not only in terms of committed crimes in general, but even in the number of detaining prisoners, which is only in the ratio of about 199 to 100,000. While this may be higher than certain countries, this is compensated with the funds being allotted by the government to its military forces, which is only 1% of its total GDP. And to top it off, these funds are not even allotted for increasing military strength, but is more on improving its rescue and assistance maneuvers, including the purchasing of equipments and vehicles for better civilian support. Living conditions are also great as people are very easy to get along with, regardless of one’s race and cultural preference. Homicides are also rare, which makes New Zealand a safe place to live in.

2. Denmark

The peace index of Denmark places it as second best in this list as its cost budget allocation for military operations is more on spending for armaments and people, rather than machines and vehicles. In fact, Denmark has decreased its number of fighter planes in order to keep up with the cost of maintaining everything, while making sure that quality is never compromised in joining with NATO and its allies on various peace missions. Homicides, violence cases, and other crimes are rated at a low 79 for every 100,000 people. The government also does not have issues both internally with its subjects, and externally, when establishing relationships with other nearby countries.

1. Iceland

Iceland may be noted as a winter wonderland for many and it certainly is not a cold place to begin with. Consider the fact that this is the most peaceful place in the world, with everything in accordance to what is demanded in the General Peace Index. Crime rate is so low that only 49 of 100,000 has been recorded, its military force is considered essential yet basic in terms of power, and its 1.1% GDP allotted for the military is more on utilization of its forces with NATO peace missions, especially noted with what happened in Afghanistan. Not only is the people in harmony with everything that exists in the government, but even the financial aspect of the country is healthy and well.

Women from different parts of the world have shared their sentiments about the personal struggles that they have went through, and how different organizations for women have helped them be freed from different forms of torment and agony that they have had. Now that International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 08, 2013, this is another opportunity for all women to stand and show before the world the kind of empowerment that they can give. It does not matter if you are single or not, the fact that you are one of the women who needs help, encouragement, and awareness, you ought to be part of this once a year celebration. For you to understand the purpose why and how the International Women’s Day is created, here are the top 10 interesting facts that you should know in order to magnify the real design and objective of this momentous day.

10. National Women’s Day

This is different from the yearly celebration being done in South Africa every 9th of the month of August. It was one of the dates and original names of International Women’s Day, which was observed every last Sunday of the month of February. This celebration was done and ended in the United States in 1913 after the United Nations made an official declaration of the official date and changed it to International Women’s Day in 1975.

9. Activities during Women’s Day

During the first few celebrations of it, there were rallies and meetings done, and it was the inauguration day of the International Women’s Day. It’s a call for all women who are victims of domestic violence, abuse of all forms, and unequal opportunities and pay at work. Today, because of the continuous improvement in technology, women can be united in participating in polls, forums, and other online activities to encourage everyone to protect women’s right. There are also seminars, luncheons, conferences, and events aside from specific places and areas where they also hold presentations, lessons, and even debates to increase participation and acumen.

8. The Centenary Year Observance

In 2011, it held its first Centennial celebration since it’s officially held in 1911 of March 19, yet in 1917, the date was moved to March 08. One hundred countries participated and glorified this day. In fact, President Barrack Obama even declared this day in 2011 as Women’s History Month by encouraging all women in the United States to make serious reflections of the women’s contributions, especially those who have defined and changed history. There are also various programs launched to support women who became victims of abuse.

7. Its Logo

Although there are different themes for International Women’s Day annually, history has refined the real symbol that would stand for women’s advocacy. Some of the major elements of it are Venus with white and purple features and faces of different women across the globe. Along with it are different slogans and messages that go with the yearly theme.

6. First Conference of Women’s Day

The first conference was actually held and done in 1975 in Mexico City. Although there are also other conferences held prior to 1975, but those were under the different dimensions since, that one has bridged the gap about the real meaning of women’s rights. It also boosted other countries to participate and lift their voices higher for them to be heard. It also laid out some of the platform and purposes like women equality, standards, programmes, and goals that will unify all women in the world.

5. Countries that Observe This Day

Primarily, International Women’s Day was first observed in the United States, Eastern Europe, Soviet Bloc, and Russia. Hence, because of the collective and consistent efforts of the United Nations, they have disseminated the information across the globe. In fact, some countries have even declared it as one of the national or legal holidays except for countries like Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Russia. Nonetheless, over 100 countries observe and support this day.

4. Another Name of International Women’s Day

It is also known as United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace since it’s associated with the advocacy that UN promotes. This name was declared during the 1977 UN General Assembly that actually designed to help women fight against worldwide discrimination being experienced at work, school, and in any places that they are being deprived from opportunities to showcase their ability, intelligence, and suggestions.

3. First Observance

According to history, the first observance of International Women’s day was done on February 28, 1909 after the Socialist Party of America made the declaration in the United States. In history, people recognize the March 08, 1911 conference held in Copenhagen, which was actually the launching of the Social Democratic Party led by Clara Zetkin in Germany. Moreover, March 19, 1911 was formally recognized celebration of the said yearly event, which was practiced and supported in countries like Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Denmark. However, since there was no real significance about the date since it’s more associated on the proclamation of the Prussian King about the right of women to vote. Since the King did not fulfill that promise, the date of observance was moved to March 8, 1913, and has been observed even until this day.

2. International Working Women’s Day

The real reason why International Women’s Day is formed is because of the oppression that women have experienced in Soviet Russia primarily, Europe, Asia, and America as to their work and the tasks that they have received back then. Government systems such as capitalism and imperialism are the primary reasons why the original name of it was International Working Women’s Day, although it’s popularly known and recognize as IWD. It’s freedom from yoke of labor, liberation from household servitude, and rigid slavery.

1. Date It Was Formed

International Women’s Day was formed on March 19, 1911 during the inauguration held in Copenhagen. The result of which had drawn million of women from countries like Austria, Germany, Denmark, and Switzerland. Prior to that, the inspiration came because of the proposal made by Luise Zietz to have a yearly International Woman’s Day during the conference attended by 100 women from different countries, which was also supported by Clara Zetkin. Although there were different dates as well of celebration and recognition in different countries that followed this declaration like in China, Russia, Italy, and other countries that observe this day.

February 22, 2013 marks the more than two centuries age of the former President of the United States, George Washington. He was born on the same date in 1732, a man who received the title of the “Father of His Country” because he once led America into fruition under his presidency for two terms that started in 1789 and lasted in 1797. Two years after, he died of throat infection in his home in Mount Vernon, Virginia. He was heralded as a hero in his time because of his brave acts in leading the army and keeping a stable American nation during his time. Citizens of the United States have loved him for what he did for his country with people continually sharing that legacy to the succeeding generations to keep his name unfurled to the future leaders of this great nation. He exemplified the true meaning of a leader who did aim for the true meaning of service despite of the power that he held twice. He knew the meaning of responsibility, and he stood for it. As we commemorate and celebrate his birthday, let’s check these top 10 interesting facts about him that we have not yet known.

The political teams started during his term, and when he was elected for the second time around, he stood on the neutral ground without being identified to any of the existing parties that time. He may not able to please both sides, but at the end of his second term as a President of the United States, he expressed his belief to have a unified government and gave warning about the disadvantages of a party system. He knew that it will be a source of corruption and jealousy, which became apparent in succeeding presidencies.

It is now official and the world has seen Barack Obama take the position of having his second term as President of the United States of America. The Inauguration event should have been on the 20th alone, but because it has landed on a Sunday, which is of course, family day, the inauguration committee decided to have the public swear-in done on the 21st, as a day when the public would be able to witness such a momentous event in US politics. So what did the world witness on this great day for America? With the inauguration celebration not being too familiar with some people, you could learn the 10 facts of President Obama’s second inauguration as US president and become more aware of the value and the essence of this special occasion.

10. The Inaugural Platform

People have seen the Capitol everyday and there is no trace of the inaugural platform, whatsoever. But as this momentous event comes once every four years, the platform should be big enough to accommodate over 1,600 people, all present for the President’s oath-taking. For economical reasons, some may think that it is stored somewhere safe, but according to the group of congress people that takes care of the event, the platform, which is over 10,000 square feet, should be done from scratch.

9. The Time Span of the Event

Even though there have been a two-part inauguration with the private on a Sunday and a public on a Monday, it did not mean that the time to be spent in the event would be shortened. It has always been the case that the celebration of the occasion is a whole-day activity from the time of the oath-taking down to the last couple of dances in the inauguration ball.

8. Food by the Thousands

When President Obama had his first inauguration back in 2009, he had to visit one diner for him to have his peace of mind. Ben’s Chili Bowl back then became an instant celebrity for being involved with the dealings of the event before he was even nominated. In 2013, Ben’s is making a comeback as it expects over so many customers that will look for the tasty chili bowl, which will be over 1,000 gallons that would be enough to feed a hungry crowd. The Willard InterContinental Hotel will also be making adjustments with the number of eggs to be used in a week’s time, even 10,000 to be used for the whole inauguration celebration.

7. Volunteers for the Preparation

Although the inauguration committee has its hands on some of their own people, there have been over 50,000 volunteers that have helped in preparing for the event, which included people coming from various walks of life, with their own level of expertise. While the number may be a bit big for voluntary service, the applications for this job have been limited, thanks to the online application that made it easier to decline excessive manpower.

6. Limitations on Donations

In order to show support to the President who will be swearing, many businesses, large corporations, and other companies are on the initiative to give cash donations, which will then be used for various government projects. During President Obama’s 1st term in 2009, he actually placed a donation cap to only $50,000 per donor, most likely in respect to the financial crisis that crippled the nation’s many businesses and industries. However, this time around, he had removed the cap limit and there have been many donors that offered cash in exchange for reserved seats and accommodation. For the “Adams” package, $150,000 should be paid by individuals while $500,000 for the corporations who are interested to donate. Bleachers from the parade, VIP packages, and others have been priced to $250,000 for individuals and as much as $1 million for corporations.

5. Necessary Absence

There is one tradition in the inauguration that may not be too obvious for most people. There has to be one cabinet secretary that should not attend the ceremonies, which is obviously for security reasons. With this being the case, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki will not show up in the event.

4. Sitting in the Church of the Presidents

St. John’s Episcopal Church is known to be the nearest house of worship that’s located very close to the White House. This could be one of the most obvious reasons why this divine structure has been called as the “Church of the Presidents”. While it is of common knowledge that the First Family has spent their Sunday in this place, there is something being done here that only presidents can do. President Obama had to sit on Pew 54, a station in the church where most of the other presidents have sat on, during their leadership days.

3. A Dress Rehearsal was Made

To make the inauguration event running as perfect as it should be on TV coverage and on the event itself, a dress rehearsal was necessary to make sure that everything goes according to plan. Everything in the event, including the President Obama’s oath taking, which was played by selected military officers, and even the singing of the National Anthem have all been patched up on January 13, a week before the inauguration.

2. Bibles Being Used

Since the Sunday inauguration was a family affair, President Obama decided to use a bible that belonged to the First Lady’s family in order to show the importance of family in such a private moment for the president and the country. During the public oath-taking, two other bibles have been suggested to be used. One belonged to Martin Luther King Jr. and the other is owned by one of the previous US Presidents, Abraham Lincoln. Both bibles were held by Michelle, and Barack was able to make a successful swear-in, knowing that two of the most influential people in the inauguration had played their part in Obama’s second term.

1. Date of the Inauguration

Based on the customs and traditions that have been observed for many years, the inauguration should be done on the 20th of January, where the president and the vice-president should be taking the oath of office. However, since the 20th is on a Sunday, a day where families are spending time for each other, the inauguration committee decided to have it in two parts: the private oath-taking will be done on the 20th together with the first and second families, while the public swear-in would be done on the 21st in order to accommodate the respects of the American people.

Say hello to this year’s holiday season with a list of movies that you will be dying to see this December. While most of the shows are expected to be for kids only with all the cartoons and fantasy movies you could think of, this year’s a bit different with titles that are good for adults and for teens that have diverse taste with action, drama, comedy, and even suspense flicks to watch out for. So what are the movies that are good to see in this year’s holiday? Read the list on the top 10 must-see movies for the 2012 holidays and think of what would be nice to watch with the kids, your loved ones, or even your buddies.

10. Deadfall

Everything starts with a casino heist that had gone bad and they have to get to the Canadian border to save themselves from being caught. But what happens when the escape goes haywire and the criminals end up being helped by the police? They had to kill, part ways, and even find each other in the company of different people in order to make the perfect cover, all covered in white snow and subzero temperatures. But things find their way soon enough, which eventually becomes their demise and deadfall.

9. Quartet

Beecham House is a retirement home that accommodates opera singers and even musicians that have been in the classical music industry for so long. With such people packed in one place, you can expect music and laughter from the old folks, which is already as funny as it is. However, the story becomes even more interesting with a new resident coming in, thinking of how the house seemed to be mad with people. It ends up that three of her friends who used to be a quartet, disbanded and met again inside the Beecham House. The four of them needed to be together and work as a team in the annual concert in celebrating Verdi’s birthday in order to provide funds for the retirement home.

8. The Impossible

As you first see the film, you could think of a picture perfect family, having the best times together in Thailand with all the giggling, the laughter, and the perfect ambience for a vacation. But at that sudden moment, you see birds fly away, the earth rumble, coconut trees falling one by one, and a tsunami that would change their lives forever. The family got separated, not knowing if any of them was alive or had drowned with the tidal wave. You have to watch this movie and see how the family was able to see the feat of the impossible, being unfolded in their lives.

7. West of Memphis

There is so much to expect in this Sony Pictures movie, especially if you know that this has been recognized by prestigious movie award giving bodies such as Sundance, the Toronto International Film Festival, and even the AFI Fest. The West of Memphis revolves its plot around the three young kids that have been murdered and sexually mutilated by men, in different scenarios, done at the same time. It took a while to know of the real story behind the “Satanic” ploy of these men, as the people involved in the solving of the crime felt that the truth and the light is never shining in this side of the story. Sounds too farfetched? Well, for starters, this is based on a true story, and the evidences are being presented in a documentary way.

6. Monsters, Inc. 3D

Kids have first seen monsters Mike and Sulley back in 2001, and it has been over a decade since. This year, kids of the latest generation will witness a kind of transformation that is being a trend in most 3D animated movies, by enhancing the overall quality of the picture and making it real-live 3D to be enjoyed in IMAX screens. Monsters Inc. is an addition to this growing trend and kids would just love to see monsters being scared by a little girl, a kind of twist that you could never imagine possible. You might have to join your children if you are interested to know the new stuff included in this release.

5. Django Unchained

What is not to be excited about with a movie that has been created by acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino, the one who made Kill Bill rise to fame? If you are a fan of action movies with all the blood spills and spurts, then Django Unleashed is just the movie for you. The plot is set years before the Civil War where Django, a slave, has been found by German bountyhunter, Dr. King Schultz, who poses as a travelling dentist, in which he is the person that can lead into the trail of the Brittle Brothers. What makes this motion picture special is the fact that Django chose to stay with the bountyhunter and join him in the quest of finding his wife, together with stopping an evil organization that houses the worst of slaves and turning them into sports brawlers.

4. Amour

With Amour being one of the choicest movies for the Cannes Film Festival, you just have to set your sights of what made this motion picture to be hailed as one of the best there is. Amour is about a couple, Georges and Anne, who are both retired music teachers, still in love with each other, despite being in their eighties, and being embraced by old age. Their daughter, who was already distant from them, had to go back to her parents, as Anne had an attack that could test the long-term relationship. You will feel the love as weaknesses appear, shortcomings made, and still love is present between them.

3. Les Misérables

Stage theatre fans have loved Les Miserables due to the story that has absorbed viewers into feeling 19th century France and stage actors that have given life and color to various characters with dance, with song, with movement, and with feelings expressed in such a powerful way. But how does this stage play looks like in a seemingly real-life setting? Thanks to Tom Hooper who had brought Les Miserables to life, viewers of the new generation will now experience this epic play like never before. And even with actors such as Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, and Sacha Baron Cohen included in the lineup, there is so much to expect to see if the movie rendition has done justice to what it should really be like, an encounter of masterpiece.

2. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Back in the old days when the first Lord of the Rings movie was viewed, The Fellowship of the Rings, you could remember that a certain Bilbo Baggins spoke to Frodo about the tale of one ring that rules everything. This time around, you will see that the said tale that Bilbo told is not of a mere tale, but an experience he had when he was younger. He was a hobbit that had a quest that determines the destiny of Middle Earth, while taking everything as mere adventure with the dwarves in reclaiming the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. Little did many know that he would come across the ring that would change his fate forever…

1. Zero Dark Thirty

Just what is this movie and The Hobbit just comes in second? If you are to watch a motion picture that gives the you detail of how the US Navy SEALS have found the trail of Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, then definitely you will throw everything aside and just immerse yourself in the search for one of the world’s most wanted terrorist out there. The 9/11 event was a mystery and the guys that are supposed to lead the trail have been destroyed together with the World Trade Center. So just how were they able to find him? This is the question that would make you watch this movie with awe and wonder. What’s better is that Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal, both associated with Best Picture “The Hurt Locker” are responsible for making this movie worth watching.

Lawsuits… You just got to love them especially when issues such as copyright infringements being sued by worldwide companies to one another, scandalous cases are being filed against a high-ranking official, or other involvements that cause a global stir are being settled in court. However, as much as there are overwhelming amounts of money being spent, witty lawyers that exchange one decree of the law with another, or the unbearable drama from the witnesses and the victims, there are those that stand out in a very weird way. Just recently, Apple and HTC have ended lawsuits through a settlement that could benefit both, which avoids splurging of funds for reasons that deprive business competition from contending companies; something that can be thought as ridiculous by some. Just so you know, there are even funnier and stranger top 10 weirdest lawsuits of all time that you have to be aware of.

10. Suit against David Copperfield and David Blaine

David Blaine and David Copperfield are famous as magicians that perform feats beyond than what can be considered as illusions. However, there is one that filed a lawsuit against these two experts because he claims that the powers they use have been taken away from him, where he thinks that he owns it, being God. It could be just his own thinking or he may have been jealous knowing that his demands were not met when he conversed with these two guys – that the secrets of their magic be revealed to him.

9. Haunted House Sued for being Too Scary

Sometimes things get to be a little too convincing that what seemed to be just a show may be taken a little too seriously, even resulting to a lawsuit that can be just as amusing. One of the Halloween Horror Nights in Universal Studios back in 1998 has scared the wits of woman and a 10 year-old girl that ended up as a $15,000 case for “emotional distress” being caused by Leatherface’s believable acting. Running and screaming with fear as they were chased by a horror figure with a chainsaw on one hand, Cleanthi Peters and her granddaughter found themselves helpless when they slipped and Leatherface gaining to them, being menaced by the chainsaw of death. Well, since this was Halloween, and the attraction they got into served the justified purpose of casting in fear and fright, the case was won in favor of the alleged theme park.

8. Beer Company Charged for Misleading Ad

Ain’t it just dreamy if you could get sexy girls drink with you while sipping that nice cold beer everyone’s talking about? While this scenario is known to be an ad stint to invite more guys into buying products, one man just had to be convinced that drinking beer can help him get close with the hottest girls around. Anheuser-Busch, maker of beer products such as the famous Budweiser and Bud Light, was sued by Richard Overton for deceiving ads that women will be easier to be with when drinking beer brands. You may assert that he tried doing those moves on TV and failed, drastically! Overton demanded for Anheuser-Busch to pay him $250 a day each time that these misleading ads are broadcasted over the air.

7. Hospital sued for Negligence

The title may seem to be reasonable, especially when the case is being viewed as one that relates to malpractice, negligence of fulfilling medical duty, or taking the patient for granted. Nevertheless, Edward Brewer sued the hospital over $2 million for something else where he stated that the former Providence Hospital did not stop him from raping one of the patients treated within the said medical facility. This may sound a little too weird so the case ended with the court in favor of the defendant, all because Brewer had decided to do the crime on his own accord.

6. Dry Cleaners being Sued for Lost Pants

When you lose your pair of pants in a dry cleaning facility, the first thing you usually do is ask the owner to find the missing pair and provide you some kind of compensation, say discounts or free service, in order to maintain business and customer relationship. However, there is one judge in Washington D.C., named Roy Pearson, which went off a little too far with this said scenario. Knowing the law and all, he sued Custom Cleaners due to market statements like “satisfaction guaranteed” not given promise, with the judge ending one pant short. If you think that this is one cheap case, then you would be surprised to know that Pearson filed the suit for over $54 million, which he even dropped down from $64 million. He did not win this one… Why? Well, the accused actually brought the missing pants in the courtroom and proved that it has been found.

5. The Case against McDonalds Coffee

This case you just have to know since it was won over by the complainant. Stella Liebeck, together with her grandson, went through the McDonalds drive-thru in order for her to buy a cup of coffee. After buying the said item, the car stopped by on the side of the road and put the cup in between her knees to add the cream in the fresh and hot coffee. When she opened the plastic lid towards her, the contents of the cup spilled, which caused third-degree burns on her lower body. She then filed the case against McDonalds telling that the coffee served was too hot that it literally burned out. She asked to have damages paid for over $20,000 due to the incident but the international fast food chain refused. With the case going to court, it was discovered that over 700 lawsuits have been filed having the same clause. Stella was awarded by the jury of over $160,000 for compensation in damages, and even $2.7 million for punitive damages.

4. Subway Authority charged by a Suicidal Person

Back in 1977, Milo Stephens Jr. went to the East Manhattan station in order for him to carry his plans of committing suicide by jumping off the tracks in order to be killed by the train. However, the said set up did not work out where he was just injured, losing some minor body parts. Everything could have been quite, but thanks to his family that found a personal injury lawyer, the said suicide has turned into a different story, where the Stephens sued the train driver for not stopping the train even though he planned on taking his life away.

3. Batman vs Batman

And you thought that the caped crusader only has the Joker, the Penguin, or the Catwoman to worry about. For more or less 75 years since its first appearance in comic books back in 1939, Batman has already been fighting crime, whether by his own, or with his sidekick Robin. And without the world knowing, there is actually a town in Turkey that has the same name as that of the Dark Knight. Huseyin Kalkan, mayor of the town of Batman filed a suit against Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan for using the town’s name without permission. Although this may have been a valid case that could be settled in courts, it may be hard for him or for his townsfolk to explain why make the appeal now when the name has been famous so long ago.

2. Man Sues Himself

Perhaps this may be the weirdest of all the lawsuits ever noted in crime history. Robert Lee Brock sued himself for violating his own civil rights when he took in alcoholic beverages and had himself arrested by the law. He sued himself for over $5 million was imprisoned to over 23 years. Since he did not have the money to pay for the expenses, being in prison and all, Brock asked that the state should pay for compensations to him. You just have to wonder how this was filed in the first place, or if a lawyer assisted him in providing the perfect plan for having it validated in court.

1. God gets a Lawsuit

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21162" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/1.-God-gets-a-Lawsuit.jpg" alt="1.
Everyone gets upset, frustrated, and grieved by the fact that hurricanes, hailstorms, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and other plagues take away life and destroy property. With these said events being identified as “Acts of God”, one person took the guts to show that the said activities need to stop. Surprising enough, the State Senator from the 11th Legislative District in Omaha, Nebraska, Ernie Chambers, filed charges against God labeling such acts as harmful and compromising.

The US Presidential Elections 2012 has finally come to its end point. People made the final decision who they would want to continue to lead America and nations in the world. In fact, there are various reactions already to those people who are Pro-Romney and who believe that he deserves to be in that post. Some might think that this is one of the most controversial elections to the citizens of America because of the different issues that were thrown by two candidates especially their ability and capability in resolving major issues that they have been experienced, and still being experienced. No one would really know if one has made the right choice when they voted for specific candidate, but things could be seen after one has finally assumed the responsibility. Words are not enough to gauge the leadership skills, and not even the achievements that one could print and brag about online. Everything will be tested when one is placed into situations that he or she needs to act and perform. Of course, not all countries in the world have tasted the sweetest victory in the world especially when it comes to political rights, and power to vote. One vote counts and it matters on how it will govern people. Let’s recall some of the major setbacks in the political history of the United with these Top 10 Worst US Presidents in history.

10. Bill Clinton (1993 – 2001)

He became the third youngest President in the United States in 1993 until year 2001 and some of the things that made him one of the worst US Presidents of all time are the deregulation of Oil Market, declaration of war in several countries, lack of political decisiveness, and of course the humiliating scandal of his relationship with Miss Lewinsky. It was a disappointment because of the immoral issues that placed him in total disgrace especially to his wife.

9. Zachary Taylor (1841 – 1845)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21125" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/9.-Zachary-Taylor-1841-–-1845-e1352274205471.jpg" alt="9.
Citizens of America who have personally witnesses the kind of leadership and governance during his term could not even remember the kind of President he became, but they chose to forget him instead of recalling that he’d been part of the US History. According to history, he was the 12th President who had known nothing because of his upbringing. He received mockery even when serving in military post which made him unfavorable and unlikable.

8. Andrew Johnson (1865 – 1869)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21123" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/8.-Andrew-Johnson-1865-–-1869-e1352273826928.jpg" alt="8.
He assumed the Presidential position on April 15, 1865 by becoming the 17th US President when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in 1865 and he automatically took his place since he was the Vice President that time. He finished his term on March 04, 1869. He was one of the Presidents that were impeached despite of his likable personality when he was young; he was not able to maintain it when political ambitions sunk deep on his mind. Major issue against him is slavery, for ignoring the Southerners, proposing hanging of traitors, reconstituting the government, and other issues that made him a greedy leader.

7. Millard Fillmore (1850 – 1853)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21122" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/7.-Millard-Fillmore-1850-–-1853-e1352273816782.jpg" alt="7.
He was a member of the Whig Party, and he happened to be the last member of it that was elected as the President of the United States on July 09, 1850, and his term ended on March 04, 1853. He took the presidential seat when President Taylor died in 1850 that made the tragic change in governance by replacing cabinet members, and putting individuals who would be in-favor with the Compromise of 1850. He even approved the Fugitive Slave Act that worsened the situation.

6. Ulysses S. Grant (1869-1877)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21121" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/6.-Ulysses-S.-Grant-1869-1877-e1352273807217.jpg" alt="6.
His successful execution and performance as a War General during the end of the Civil War paved the way for him to be elected as the 18th President of the United States on March 04, 1869. He was also known as The Butcher, Uncle Sam, and Unconditional Surrender and it was really opposite on the character and leadership that he had shown while serving in Civil War. He was involved in several scandals, appointments of corrupt cabinet members, fraudulent activities, and even discovery of other administration scandals during his two-year terms as a President. Even at the end of his term, he tried to protect people who should be responsible before the citizens of the United States, even his own secretary.

5. Franklin Pierce (1853-1857)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21120" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/5.-Franklin-Pierce-1853-1857-e1352273797162.jpg" alt="5.
He was the only elected President in the United States that came from New Hampshire on March 04, 1853. He was also a Jackson democrat, where he got the title doughface because he carried to himself principles that Southerner has although he was a northerner. He expressed his support on the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854, Compromise of 1850, and even wanted arming Cuba and even his opponents suspected that it might lead to another new slave state. In fact, in one of the letters of Theodore Roosevelt to President Pierce, he described him as a servile tool of men worse than himself, and other negative reviews about the President.

4. Warren G. Harding (1921 – 1923)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21119" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/4.-Warren-G.-Harding-1921-–-1923-e1352273785739.jpg" alt="4.
Governor, and US Senator. He was not able to magnify his position because of his plunderous acts, indecisive leadership, and his gambling activities. In fact, his Cabinet Secretary was even sent in jail and even appointed his friends in important positions, which was known as Ohio Gang and everyone was aware of their attempts to grab government power. He just served two years in the Presidency because of his immoral activities, and fraudulent acts.

3. James Buchanan (1857 – 1861)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21118" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/3.-James-Buchanan-1857-–-1861-e1352273776258.jpg" alt="3.
He became one of the worst Presidents in America because of issuing a statement expressing that he did not take any interest in slavery issue since he said it was “of little practical importance” and the decision made by the court that time to prohibit descent of Africa in becoming citizens of United States took effect. It was a belief of everyone that it was really the motive and intention of the President, and he was also the source of economic downfall which was known as a Panic of 1857. In fact, he even got a vote as the worst President in the history by historians themselves in 2006.

2. Andrew Jackson (1829 – 1837)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21117" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/2.-Andrew-Jackson-1829-–-1837-e1352273768536.jpg" alt="2.
He became the 7th President of the United States on March 04, 1829, and his term ended on March 04, 1937. He was put on the second position on this list because of his open-defiance and opposition to the ruling of the Supreme Court, and has had several liberties issues. In fact, he even owned the biggest slave-owner which was located in the Southwestern part of the United States. He was also known as an Indian killer, implemented by force the Ethnic cleansing in vigorously manner, and his unreasonable economic policies and one of which was the executive order to end federal deposits to the Second Bank. The worst part that he did was his dubious political legacy that brought resentments to a lot of people against him.

1. Richard Nixon (1969 – 1974)

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-21116" src="http://www.tiptoptens.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/1.-Richard-Nixon-1969-–-1974-e1352273759204.jpg" alt="1.
He was the only President in the United States that resigned from his position as its 37th most powerful man in the country, and in the world. He was elected on January 20, 1969 and left on August 09, 1974. Some of the issues associated with him are secret bombing made in Cambodia, his secret conversations of cover-up were divulged, wire-taps, harassing opponents, illicit campaign distributions, break-ins, and his Watergate Scandal. In fact, he even got the title of an Unindicted co-conspirator, and when he felt that he could not won over impeachment case against him, and even find himself being convicted by the Senate, he finally made his way to bid goodbye from his Presidential position.

Everyone’s eyes were glued on the final clashed of words, proposals, and answers that would serve as tickets for millions of voters and spectators who have watched today’s final debate 2012. Mitt Romney has elucidated his points since the first debate and so with the current President of the United States Barrack Obama who is trying to retain the presidency, and there were divisions thereafter. Poll results have shown who have sided to the two Presidential candidates from the first down to the last faced-off that they have had today. For the last stroke, let’s check the top 10 highlights of the final debate 2012 before the people make a final decision as to who would they put in power not just to lead the greatest and powerful country, the America. Would the three debates enough for the voters to evaluate the kind of empowerment and change that they are proposing and presenting not just to the United States, but throughout the world? Of course both sides have expressed their intention and plans to all citizens of America. Both laid out their targets, and specific platforms where they could addressed the growing needs and concerns of the people as to employment, tax, and everything which are current and at hand. If you have not yet watched the final deliberation earlier, you could read these highlights, and make a final resolve.

10. We Can Be a Partner with China – Romney

One of the points that Governor Romney explained that he still recognizes the power that China can bring to the United States especially when it comes in lifting the nation’s condition in the midst of financial woes. Nonetheless as he stated in the first debate that borrowing money from China would not help at all. It is true that he acknowledges the economic stability of China wherein he compared it with Latin’s America’s eminence when it comes to financial progress. He pointed out common grounds where United States and China can meet together instead of being an adversary when national security became the next discussion of the last debate.

9. This Has Been the Biggest Whopper that’s been Told – Obama

When Mr. Schiffer brought up the next issue about the rumored talks that Iran and United States with regards to nuclear Program of Iran, both had shared their piece, but President Obama boldly declared that what Governor Romney has stated against him were not true. Hence, he even said that there was nothing that the Governor has explained was true, and he even said they were all fabricated stories and lies made by him. He even expressed his disappointments that how could Mitt Romney feel so sorry if those are all part of his political agenda. This is where President Obama became so critical and aggressive as the course of debate goes through.

8. Iran Will Not Get a Nuclear Weapon – Obama

This is actually in connection on what he has denied when Governor Romney president figures of 10,000 centrifuges spinning uranium which the Governor feared would be used to threat not just America, but the entire world. Nonetheless, Mr. President denied it, and he just want to assure the citizens of the United States that he is not going to support the Nuclear Weapon of Iran. He even stressed the point from the very first time that he assumed the Presidency post that is in total opposition and he explained that Iran is indeed a risk to the overall security of the country which he has firmly focused on a couple of times. The President stood on his belief that he will not allow as long as he still heads and leads America. He even stated that Iran is one of the sources of terrorism acts in the world.

7. America Must Be Strong – Romney

Governor Romney answered the question presented by Mr. Schiffer when it comes to the role that America has in the world. He made a positive impact when he stated must take the lead and in order to do that it should possess strength in order to uphold the principles, and defend the freedom of the world. He further made an affirmation about basic human rights that must be observed in order to achieve one goal of humanity which is peace. Hence, one of the things that he suggested in order to make America really a strong country that the world can depend upon is to stabilize the economic conditions of it. He then draws back the issues on growth of unemployment rate, the military, and terrorism.

6. You Made a Major Speech – Obama

This is in response in the issue of terrorism and a need of change in the Middle East. It was one of the points or loopholes that Governor Romney reiterated especially with what happened in Libya wherein four American died and one of them was the Ambassador of the United States. The Governor took the first part wherein he explained his plans and what could have been done if he were in that situation and made some critical comments against the President. Nonetheless, Obama and Romney had an exchange remarks especially when the latter said about the 5,000 troops that should have stayed on, although the President insisted that there are troops staying in Iraq, which Romney opposed until he uttered with disappointments, “You made a major speech.”

5. Go after the Bad Guys – Romney

This line may actually sound that Governor Romney is playing simple superhero. However, these words of his were not means to an end. His vision was something different, something that the world is looking forward for. He shared that in order to bring balance and peace to both the Christian and the Muslim world; he proposed to exterminate the ones who are responsible for the terrorists’ movements. These are not the individuals who wield weapons of war in the field, but the ones who are not seen in the limelight; the actual leaders and minds behind the catastrophe and the chaos.

4. Keep the American People Safe – Obama

President Obama could not stress safety for the American people even more. He knew that one of his main tasks as US President is to make sure that every American on the planet is safe and secure. He raised his achievements to the crowd by mentioning the ending of war in Iraq and reestablishing ties with Afghanistan after the exchange of gunshots and principles. The incumbent president also stated of the stand with what happened in Libya mentioning that he has done his part in making sure that everything is under control – without resorting to impulsive violence and other untoward incidents that may start another war.

3. We Can’t Kill Our Way Out of This Mess – Romney

There are some problems that cannot be simply solved by cutting out or exterminating the dilemma. After all, the decaying of the leaves is not just ended by hacking the branches, without knowing that the problem lies hidden from the untrained eye, even by the roots. This is what Romney is trying to stress to President Obama. Killing is not the solution to everything. Peace cannot be obtained by shedding blood and taking into casualty, innocent lives that are caught between the crossfire. Extremism can end, according to him, by establishing ties and taking out in the picture, the very reason why wars exist in the first place – the idealism of evil minds.

2. America Remains as the One Indispensable Nation – Obama

No matter how it can be looked at, America is that one nation in the world that is as indispensable as other nations would hope it could be. Because of this, the country, along with its ruler, has the responsibility to make sure that it stands strong and firm despite of the many winds of change that make shake its course as the greatest superpower in the world. Whether it is affected by the financial, industrial, economical, or social issues known across the globe, its strength is relied upon by the other countries. This is why he focused on winning back against the recession by helping the automobile industry rise again from the ashes. He also stated the US will once again be known for innovation and developments that will cause the country to be globally competitive again.

1. You’ve been Wrong – Obama

Looks like it was President Obama who had drawn the first blood of Governor Romney, when he mentioned that the Republican candidate was wrong on many counts. This was particularly blurted out at the time when Obama was specifying that most of Romney’s opinions when it comes to foreign policy had been wrong. When it comes to sending troops to Iraq when the war was over, concerns with weapons of mass destruction in the said nation, and even pushing through the nuclear treaties with Russia, Mitt Romney had been wrong on all accounts were his ideas do not complement with the concern of safety and security of the people of the United States of America.

After the hot exchange of ideas between incumbent President Obama and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, people have been excited with what would turn out in the Vice-presidential debate. Vice President Biden and Republican Paul Ryan were able to bring much heat in the said debate and seeing the difference between the two. When it comes to the presentation of facts, the cracking of jokes, and even the stressing of figures and numbers associated with current situations, it can be clearly seen who among these two influential individuals have taken the vote of the masses. And of all has been said and done, it cannot be avoided that there are the top 10 lines in the Biden-Ryan Vice-Presidential Debate that have made people think, laugh, and upset altogether.

10. Ryan: Look at the string of broken promises

As this was mentioned during the part when Medicare was talked about, he stated different figures that involve the rising of prices in healthcare, which went up to $3,000. Even though there are many individuals who are not satisfied with their current health care benefits and expenses, some brows raised because the figures Ryan gave is taken as inaccurate, and baseless. Obama had somehow fulfilled some of his promises with changing the face of the healthcare industry, although it may be misleading why he is asking for an additional 4 years to make every plan and goal as possible.

9. Biden: Not mathematically possible

Of the many statements that Joe Biden made in the recent VP debate, this one liner may be one of the most accurate he could provide. Aside from being short, it gives some kind of assurance that he has studied the tax plan of the Romney-Ryan tandem. Who could even believe that despite Ryan gave all the figures necessary, Biden still wins in this aspect. The Tax Policy Center has confirmed that in order for the $5 trillion tax cut to be done, over 65% of the total loopholes should be settled and taken care of. This means that cutting the taxes by 20%, removing tax collection from individuals generating income less than $200,000, and removing real estate tax and lessening the corporate tax rate by a reduced 10% does not help much to what is needed to be achieved.

8. Biden: You know, I heard that death panel argument from Sarah Palin

The nice thing about Joe Biden is that he is into making people laugh by mentioning and taking different statements from other people, along with bashing in other names that do not even have place in the debate with Paul Ryan. He had already mistaken Ryan as Jack Kennedy at one point, and he even took the names of Sandra Palin, George W. Bush, and others. The hard part, as much as he is into making a fool of other people, his short temperateness is easily budged by his contender, that Biden spent more than 70% of the time, defending himself, rather than addressing issues.

7. Biden: Romney said, “I wouldn’t move heaven and earth to get Bin Laden”

There is always risk in quoting someone, not unless sources have been checked, and information has been verified. When Biden mentioned this statement from Mitt Romney, he was instilling a wrong idea to the masses, making Romney look bad at disregarding or not being concerned with the terrorist group who attacked in the 9/11 event. However, when the words of the republican running for president have been cross referenced, even back in 2007, he meant to address something else. He stated that it is not worth moving heaven and earth, even spending billions of dollars just to get one person. It’s not that he did not care, he was just not comfortable with the idea that the government would spend so much money for Osama Bin Laden, instead of allocating the budget for the people and the programs that need more of it. It looks like Biden had to lie just to make other people look bad.

6. Ryan: Social Security and Medicare are going bankrupt

You may have noticed one of the things that republican Paul Ryan loves to do when so many people are watching or listening. He is into providing some facts that may actually wake up your senses. Known as one of his strategies to keep his audience attached to what he is going to say, he mentioned some controversial lines such as Obamacare supports religious preference, Iran can make 5 nukes, and now the Social Security and Medicare are to be drained to a pulp, which is also not true.

5. Biden: We went out and rescued General Motors

At the time when the great recession hit the US, one of the most affected was the automobile industry. The impact was so overwhelming that companies have closed down some of their factories both locally and in other countries. Due to this attempt of saving what is left in the business, cross cutting became ordinary, causing thousands of Americans lose jobs just to confirm that everything still stands. Even before the Obama administration took over, former President George W. Bush already got through saving General Motor and Chrysler, through the auto bailout program. So Biden stating that they went out and saved the vehicle production industry is just taking credit for what they have just improved. It is more of they have taken over the rescue and made things more convenient.

4. Biden: Romney said, “No, let Detroit go bankrupt”

People who hear this statement may have their eyes widened with shock, thinking that Mitt Romney has been cold hearted when it comes to the automobile industry issues during the term of President Obama. Nevertheless, looking at these lines, especially coming from Biden, may need more studying, research, and cross referencing. With the statement he wrote as an essay with New York Times back in 2008, he did not write in general for Chrysler and GM to go bankrupt for good. This was in response for the use of government money to bail out the two major car companies. He instead suggested for bankruptcy restructuring through the use of private finances, something that has been beyond possible at the time. Romney did not even stop there but he also suggested for the government to guarantee private loans for these companies, after the bankruptcy was lifted.

3. Biden: What we did is, we saved $716 billion and put it back, applied it to Medicare

With all due respect, $716 billion to be used for healthcare is a huge help for many families and beneficiaries alike. However, reality bites and most of the said amount of money are not being used back for Medicare management. The total savings stated by Biden have been cut in the total of 10 years, and some of these have been used to improve services, increase benefits, and even taking care of balances and deficits from providers. Despite of this fortunate report, majority of the money have been utilized to increase health care coverage outside of the Medicare system.

2. Biden: People making a million dollars or more

Getting back the financial stability of the US government is not an easy task, which requires the support of the people who are on the upper bracket of the society; the wealthier members of the community. This could be a dream come true if the country has richer people than the middle class masses. However, it is not the case and the meager are more populate than the Class A’s. Due to these statistics, Obama’s planned tax increase will also affect those who are profiting individuals who make over $200,000 and couples making an additional $50,000 every year. Now that would be ironic as this was the vision of former president Bush. So Biden’s response as to who will pay more taxes on the second term was totally bogus!

1. Biden: Well, we weren’t told they wanted more security there

One of the most recent issues that the US has faced was when the embassy in Benghazi, Libya was attacked by terrorists in response to their hate for the international superpower. It is unfortunate to know that they have been successful as they have taken the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. This could have been avoided if the demand of Eric Nordstrom, the top security official in Libya, was granted. He sought for more security from Washington but it was criticized beyond belief; thinking that he was asking too much. When Biden mentioned of these sentences during the debate, people who have heard the response were just upset that such assumption for safety was overlooked and misjudged, and was asserted without confirmation of any kind.
