A snake film directed by Bill Corcoran, Vipers was released in 2008 and starred Tara Reid, Jonathan Scarfe, Genevieve Buechner and Corbin Bernsen. The title of this movie was inspired by the Co/Ed softball team Viper that played the sport during summer throughout the Capital Region. This movie revolved around the mass of genetically enhanced vipers that were discovered in a nearby seaside community following a mishap at a remote medical research laboratory. It premiered in 2008 on the Syfy Channel and had its first DVD release on that same year.

Also known by the title Snake Man, The Snake King was released following the anaconda film entitled Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. This Sci Fi Pictures original film premiered in 2005 and starred Stephen Baldwin, Jayne Heitmeyer and Larry Day. This movie started when a group of anthropologists based in the Amazon uncovered the remains of a man who was already 300 years old when he died. This finding led the group of anthropologist to another expedition, which was unfortunately deterred by an Amazonian tribe worshipping a giant multi-headed snake.

Released in 1989 under the direction of Frederico Prosperi, Curse II: The Bite was written by Susan Zelouf and starred Jill Schoelen, J. Eddie Peck and Jamie Farr. The story of this snake film revolved around a young man who was bitten by a radioactive snake on his hand. His bitten hand transformed into a lethal snake head which attacks everyone that comes near him. Eventually in the movie, his entire body was filled with snakes and his major dilemma was identifying how he could control himself from hurting others.

7. Boa vs. Python

Directed by David Flores and written by Chase Parker and Sam Wells, Boa vs. Python is another snake movie that was first released in 2004. Filmed in Sofia, Bulgaria, this film was a crossover between the 2001 movie entitled Boa and the 2000 movie entitled Python. The story of this movie revolved around an ambitious businessman who transported an 80-foot python to the United States. Following the escape of the snake, it started to leave behind a trail of its human victims. The movie tackled the plot of an FBI agent and another snake specialist to recapture the creature by pitting it against a bioengineered boa constrictor.

The movie centered on a genetically engineered snake, particularly a python, that had escaped and unleashed itself in a small town. It began when a military plane crash occurred in a small American town, giving the man-eating snake the opportunity to set off on a killing spree. Filmed in Los Angeles, California, this movie was followed by two sequels.

Released in 2004, Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid is a horror-thriller film that served as the stand-alone sequel to the anaconda film Anaconda which was released in 1997. Directed by Dwight H. Little and written by Hans Bauer, this movie revolved around a team of researchers who had set out into the Borneo Island to search for a sacred flower. This purpose of this scientific expedition was to seek the Blood Orchid, which was believed to grant people longer life. As they searched for the flower, the group of scientists found themselves running afoul of giant anacondas.

Raiders of the Ark is an American fantasy-adventure film that was marketed as Indiana Jones in 1981as one of the exciting snake movies of all time. Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Harrison Ford, this movie centered on Indiana Jones fighting against a group of Nazis who were in search of the Ark of the Covenant which, according to Hitler, would make their army invincible.

Released in 2006, Snakes on a Plane is an action thriller film starring Samuel L. Jackson. Directed by David Ellis and written by David Dalessandro, John Heffeman and Sheldon Turner, the movie centered on an FBI agent who took on a plane filled with deadly and poisonous snakes which were released to kill a trial witness who was about to testify against a mob boss in Los Angeles. The snake movie became a certified Internet phenomenon following its release due to its unique premise. It received several positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.

Anaconda is another adventure-horror film released in 1997. It starred Jennifer Lopez, Job Voight and Ice Cube and centered on a National Geographic Channel crew who were shooting a documentary about a long-lost Indian tribe in the Amazon Rainforest and were kidnapped by a hunter who was going after the largest anaconda in the world. The snake film turned out to be a box office hit despite mostly negative reviews from film critics. It was followed by three sequels and was given a PG-13 rating by the MPAA.
