Just recently the world received news that Muhammad Ali passed away. First, some thought it was joke but then later it was confirmed he really passed. Ali was perhaps one of the most controversial, inspiring and polarizing figures when he was in the ring and outside of the boxing ring. When he was just 22 years of age he won the world heavyweight championship. After the win, he decided to convert to Islam and he changed his slave name to Ali.

He was born in Louisville, Kentucky and four brothers and a sister. A Louisville police officer directed him towards boxing first when he was 12 years old. He encountered him when he was fuming over some thief that was trying to take his bike. He was not scared of the thief at all and told the office he was going to give the thief the “whup”. The officer was also a boxing coach and told Ali that if he wanted to do that to the thief he better learn how to box. He took his advice seriously and after that became known as one of the greatest boxers ever.
