I am not at all trying to calm your fears in regards to flying. However, what I am trying to do is inform you of the weird things that could happen when you’re flying. If you’ve thought you’ve heard and known everything about flying on airplanes you more than likely have not. If you’re about to plan your summer vacation or a trip then it’s important to know these things.

Check out these 10 Weird Things That Could Happen When Flying on Airplanes

  1. People fake needing a wheelchair

The staff goes out of their way to help people in need and more so, if they are in a wheelchair. They tend to make people in wheelchairs their top priority. You might be overwhelmed at times when you get on a plane and see about 4 or 5 people in chairs when the truth of it is, only one of them actually really needs one. Airlines normally don’t ask for proof for people in wheelchairs to see if they have a disability, despite what the federal law requires.

  1. Dogs get more scared on planes then cats

Often times cats don’t even care when they are flying. However, dogs tend to be the ones who freak out more. This also tends to be the case even more so if they are always by their owner and have to be separated from them for a time period. It’s important to have your pets name on cages in case they do get scared and maybe their favorite toy to help calm them down. Despite the fact that cats don’t get scared like dogs do, it’s still a good idea to include their favorite toys in the cages.

  1. Remove your old tags

One reason why bags get rerouted or put in the wrong destination area it is because the person left their old tag on the bag. Be sure that you check for any old tags on your bag. Remove them and put the new ones on the bag. This way it’ll give you peace of mind to know that you took the proper steps needed in order to make sure that your bags get to the correct final destination place. Mistakes still can happen even when you remove your old tags but it becomes slimmer when the proper tags are on your bags.

  1. Ear buds on the flight aren’t new

Don’t be tricked into thinking that the ear buds on your flight are new. Just because they are wrapped up doesn’t mean they haven’t been used. The good news is often times they have properly cleaned in such a way that they look brand new. If you’re squeamish over using second hand ear buds then it’s best to probably just bring your own. Another thing to remember is that not all flights have them.

  1. Pilots aren’t always as rich as you think

Just because they are a pilot doesn’t mean you should disrespect them or give them a hard time. They are doing the best they can. They also probably don’t make near as much as you think they make. Some pilots make around $19,000 or less per year. Regardless of what they make, always try and be kind to your pilot and not cause them to get stressed while flying. If your pilot or the staff might be rude to you in some way, just say you’ll take it on Facebook or Twitter and watch how they will change instead of getting in an uproar about it on the plane.

If you’re going to get a drink on the plane make sure that it’s bottled. The reason why is that the water tanks on the plane tend to not always be cleaned regularly. It can even be risky having something like coffee or tea because you don’t know how clean the tank might be currently. Asking for a bottled coke or bottled water is the best way to ensure that you’re having a good drink on the plane. You still can have fun with your drinks regardless ….

The good news is, recent studies now show that you can actually talk on the flight and it not show any interference on the flight. There are some airlines in the Middle East, Asia and in Europe that allow people to talk on their phones during their flight due to the fact it doesn’t cause any problems with the airplane itself.
